Daniel Durst is a bass player, improviser, and composer based in Brooklyn, NY.

Known for his soft yet warm touch and meditative approach to improvisation, Daniel brings his musical personality across a variety of genres from jazz to noise to indie rock. His peers have described his playing as "like a warm blanket you can do anything in."

Daniel grew up in the Bay Area playing in various punk bands and new wave projects. He moved to New York in 2011 to study jazz, double bass, and composition at the New School. Daniel honed his skills under the guidance of mentors such as Bob Cranshaw, Ben Street, Jane Ira Bloom, and Thomas Morgan. Daniel has performed internationally at the Bern Jazz Festival and performs around New York at venues such as Bar Next Door, Barbés, the Knitting Factory, Carnegie Hall, and Rockwood Music Hall.

Daniel currently plays electric bass in Tiny Gun, Drug Bug, and Emanu.
